MANGALORE: The School of Management, Manipal University (formerly the Manipal Institute of Management) has started accepting applications for its sectoral MBA in Healthcare Management slated to begin from July 2014.
This two year programme based on the trimester pattern aims to cater to the requirement for management professionals of the burgeoning healthcare sector in India.
The programme, designed in consultation with academicians and experts from the healthcare industry, would be overseen by a Board of Studies which, besides experienced educators from
academia, also includesa senior professional from the healthcare industry.
The pedagogy lays emphasis on action learning and would leverage the strong presence of the Manipal Group in the healthcare sector to provide students with an exposure to real-life situations in the healthcare sector. The batch size for the programme is kept at 30 to ensure effective instruction and learning.
The programme is open to students with a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised University and selection would be based on the applicant's academic record and performance in a group discussion/ interview.
With the course fees pegged at Rs 4.5 lakh, the programme represents an attractive and affordable higher education avenue, especially to students with a medical/ para medical background.
